Dr. Henry Cusnir completed his medical education at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. He became a teaching assistant during his first year of medical school and participated in the international student exchange program at Brown University. Dr. Cusnir completed his internship and residence at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was given the Award of Excellence for ""Outstanding Intern"" in 1997. He became Chief Medical Resident and Chairman-Elect of the residence advisory council from 1999 to 2000. Immediately following, Dr. Cusnir pursued a subspecialty in cardiology and interventional cardiology, publishing studies on cardiopulmonary resuscitation for in-hospital cardiac arrest. He served as the catheterization committee chairman and medical director at Florida Medical Center until 2015. \n \nDr. Cusnir has performed more than 1,500 cardiovascular interventions, 200 acute coronary revascularizations, at least 6,000 coronary angiograms, 500 peripheral angiograms, and more than 100 peripheral interventions, including carotid stenting and atrial septal defect closure. He is also proficient in the use of hemodynamic support devices.
