After completing her Bachelor Degree in Science at Emory University in Neuroscience, Dr. Ray attended the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where she received her Medical Degree. She moved on to complete her General Surgery Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Hospital where she served as administrative chief resident. Dr. Ray completed a 2-year research fellowship with a focus on surgical outcomes research and surgical education. During this time, she also earned her Master of Science in Public Health. She completed her clinical fellowship at New York University Langone Health in Colon and Rectal Surgery with advanced training in inflammatory bowel disease surgery and robotic surgery. Dr. Ray has published over 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to several book chapters and editorials. She has also presented her work at dozens of conferences across the country and abroad. Dr. Ray has been acknowledged for her research, teaching, leadership, and character with various awards. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was inducted into the Iron Arrow, the high highest honor bestowed upon members of the University of Miami community. She has been with HCA Florida Healthcare since 2020 focusing on minimally invasive robotic colorectal cancer surgery. Dr. Ray also serves as the HCA Florida JFK Surgery Residency GME Research Coordinator and the HCA Florida JFK Cancer Liaison Physician. She is an active member in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons serving on multiple committees and is President of the Florida Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.
