Dr. Brent Stephens earned his Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC. He attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and completed his Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. His Orthopedic Surgical Residency was completed at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC where he served as Chief Resident. His Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow was completed at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, FL. He is a member of the National Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Stephens is an active member of the Howard University Medical Alumni Board, the Renality Foundation and Young Doctors of DC. He has completed research in his field and has received numerous accolades and honors from Howard University, Georgia Southern University and University of Kentucky. In addition to his scholastic and research achievements, Dr. Stephens was a scholar athlete, playing baseball at both Georgia Southern University and the University of Kentucky. To help deliver timely, comprehensive orthopedic care, Dr. Stephens is supported by two experienced Physician Assistants: Kyle Scully, PA-C (Viera location) assists in surgery, interprets MRIs, performs joint injections, and manages scheduling. His collaboration with Dr. Stephens helps reduce appointment wait times. Kristin Dammann, PA-C (NASA location) also assists in surgery, reviews imaging, provides injections, and helps guide patients through the surgical process. Her patients benefit from earlier evaluations and coordinated care.
