“I really admired how well-oiled the Island Doctors team was as a whole.”–Shawn Wyeth Introducing Shawn Wyeth!  He is one of our wonderful medical assistant’s working in the Daytona area.  He’s been on the Island Doctors team for about four years now.  We wanted to highlight Shawn because he has received a lot of positive feedback from his patients.  We asked him a couple questions.  Please read on to see his answers. What is your favorite thing about working at Island Doctors?      “I enjoy interacting with my patients.  I try to get to know them on a personal level and try to remember a few personal things about them.  I enjoy the opportunity to help them improve their overall health and wellness.”  Do you have a memorable moment with a patient?  “One of the proudest moments I have regarding a patient, was a woman that came into my office who is a military veteran.   She was overweight and dead set on staying at that weight because ‘that’s the way it’s going to be.’  I slowly began working with her and trying to understand where she was coming from.  Over a few visits, I was able to at least get her to try the triangle diet.  The last time I saw her she had reached a 26 lb weight loss and was going strong!  She said to me, in a completely different tone than before, “You know Shawn, thanks to you I was able to get this weight off of me and I feel great!”  It was just one of those things that made me feel good about what I do.” Finally, do you have a favorite Island Doctors memory?      “One of my favorite Island Doctors memories was when I worked in Palm Coast.  One day we had a total of 86 patients scheduled for that day.  I really admired how well-oiled the Island Doctors team was as a whole.  Everyone had their jobs and was working towards one common goal.  So much team work had to happen that day for everything to go smoothly.  The day went on, and everything went right.
