Yes, Edinburgh Napier University has the status of a Royal Charter University in the UK and is a Recognised body by the UK Government’s Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, which is responsible for monitoring tertiary institutes in the UK. The Edinburgh Napier University Business School has achieved AACSB accreditation, which places us in the top 5% of Business Schools globally. All academic support on the programme is delivered by Edinburgh Napier University faculty. What is the role of Southpoint Education International? Southpoint Education International (SEI) are the exclusive representatives for Edinburgh Napier University in the US, the Caribbean & Latin America and have been their trusted partner since 2012. SEI is responsible for the marketing of the programme in the region and assisting with the application process. All admission decisions are made by the University and offer letters on University letterhead are forwarded to SEI for onward distribution to applicants. SEI stays in touch with students throughout the programme and assists with various administrative functions e.g. accepting payments, gathering feedback, module ordering etc. Please note that Certificates are awarded by Edinburgh Napier University alone (no mention of SEI) and all academic support is provided 100% by ENU faculty. How many modules can I study at one time? You can study a maximum of two modules per Trimester (15 weeks). For example, if you are studying the MBA you can complete the programme in 18 months if you take two modules per Trimester. However, for the MBA (and other Masters degrees) you have up to 4 years to complete the programme, so you can study at your own pace. The Bachelor degree Top-ups have a maximum duration of 3 years. How many units in each module? There are ten units in a module. It is recommended that you study one unit per week allowing time to focus on your assignment for the remainder of the Trimester. What support will I receive? You will be given log-in details to the Virtual Campus where you will gain access to iNapier app (also available on Apple and Play Store) where you will be guided in your studies. Your tutor will hold weekly Webex sessions and will initiate discussion forums. It is not mandatory to attend any sessions. You can also email or chat with your tutor outside of these sessions. Everything will be ‘archived’ in case you miss any sessions. You are provided with an e-book alongside your study guide and units as well as access to the university’s online library. The virtual campus uses videos and animation to keep your studies engaging and interactive in addition to SAQ’s (self assessment questions) to ensure you progress satisfactorily through the units. How many hours do I need to study per week? We recommend anywhere between 7 and 15 hours per week on average, depending on your programme and the number of modules you are studying. Do I have to log on at any specific time? The programmes are all asynchronous i.e you are not required to be online at any particular time. It is entirely up to you when you log on. Does my degree certificate or transcript mention ‘online study’. No, there is no mention of ‘online’ on your Certificate or Transcript. The degree has exactly the same status as one studied on campus. How and when do I pay? You pay at the beginning of a Trimester. It is up to you if you wish to take up one or two modules each Trimester (you will be provided with a modules list) or you can defer (as long as you complete in the maximum duration). You ‘pay as you go’ through the programme on a modular basis. You can pay by wire transfer, PayPal or bank draft etc. Are there any extra/hidden costs while I am on the programme? No, the fee is all inclusive. Does the tuition fee increase each year? No, the fee listed in your offer will be the same as you end up paying (provided you complete within the maximum time frame). How is the programme assessed? There are no formal exams, except where programmes are accredited by Professional Bodies (specifically the MSc Construction Project Management and MSc Transport Planning and Engineering). The programmes are all assessed by Formative feedback (quizzes) and Summative Assessment (final assignment). The quizzes amount to 10% of your grade for the module (there are 10 units in each module and a quiz on completion of each unit) and are completed as you work your way through the module, with the exception of two (2) core modules (MBA and MBM only) which are not assessed by quizzes but by two (2) assignments instead. The assignment, which is submitted at the end of the Trimester, amounts to 90% of your grade for the module. What if I fail? You are allowed two attempts at the final assignment on each module at no extra cost. What happens if I cannot complete the whole programme? We have various exit awards for the MBA and other MSc programmes. You will be eligible for a certificate of credit on the completion of one module. On the completion of three modules you will eligible for a Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits) and on the completion of six modules, a Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits). A full Masters degree is granted on the completion of 180 credits. Am I eligible for a refund if I do not complete my programme? We do not offer refunds.
