Waimei Amy Tai, MD
Waimei Tai, M.D., FAHA, joined Christiana Care Health System as a vascular neurologist with clinical, research and teaching experience in stroke, neurology and neuroscience, most recently as director of the Stanford Stroke Telemedicine Program and clinical assistant professor, Neurology and Neurological Sciences, Stanford University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Tai holds a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland. She completed her residency in neurology at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, the recipient of research and scholarship awards and serving as chief resident her final year. Following her fellowship in vascular neurology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, Dr. Tai served as clinical assistant instructor at the Stanford Stroke Center, Department of Neurology & Neurosciences and post-doctoral fellow at the Clinical Excellence Research Center. A recipient of the Boldrey Award in neuroscience research from the San Francisco Neurological Society, Dr. Tai has been principal investigator for clinical research grants evaluating stroke care and prevention measures. She created and taught a Stroke Code Simulation program for neurology residents, and served as a stroke and vascular lecturer for primary physician associates and neuroanatomy lab clinical lecturer for medical students at Stanford University. Dr. Tai has presented extensively at symposiums, summits and conferences including the International Stroke Conference and American Academy of Neurology Annual Meetings. Her contributions to medical literature include articles published in Neurology Clinical Practice, Cerebrovascular Diseases, American Heart Association Stroke and Circulation journals and Journal of Pediatric Neuroradiology. She is a reviewer for the American Heart Association and Journal of Neurologic Disorders and Journal of Clinical Case Reports. She is a fellow of the American Heart Association and an active member of the American Academy of Neurology. Specialties: Vascular Neurology.
