Barry Boyd, D.M.D., M.D., FACS, is program director, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Christiana Care Health System. He joined Christiana Care from the School of Dental Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo, most recently as clinical associate professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, resident teacher, and director of undergraduate education, courses and clinics for the department. He has been a committee member and attending staff oral surgeon at Erie County Medical Center and Kaleida Health Hospitals of Buffalo. Dr. Boyd is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgery.Dr. Boyd earned his doctor of dental medicine, D.M.D., from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed his fellowship in dental medicine at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, serving as a general practice resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University. He completed an internship in general surgery at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Boyd is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, National Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.
